This mechanical nut cracker was invented in 1913 Henry Marcus Quakenbush. It measures approximately height x 2 wide. He marked his items with Hmq.

This item appears to be from mid 20th century probably early 1940s 50's. The Hmq mechanical nickel plated cast iron nut cracker is in excellent used condition.

It still works I tested out on an English walnut.
